The story of PatrimoniApp
PatrimoniApp was born from a personal need: seeing a whole net worth — accounts, investments, loans — without handing the data to anyone. The app was built step by step, each evolution bringing something concrete. Here are the highlights.
A private core, first of all
From day one, the principle was set: your data lives on your devices and in your iCloud, end-to-end encrypted, synced between iPhone, iPad and Mac — with no publisher server at all.
Spending, income and budgets
Fast transaction entry arrives, with custom categories, per-category budgets and the first monthly indicators to understand where the money goes.
The full picture
The complete wealth inventory (real estate, stocks, property funds, crypto…) joins loan tracking: schedules, rate revisions, outstanding balance. The Monte Carlo simulation (10,000 runs) estimates your odds of reaching your goals.
Just ask
An assistant answers questions about your situation in plain language. It runs on your own API key, and conversation history stays on your device.
Your data, in your hands
Export your reports as PDF and your data as CSV: to archive, share with an advisor, or simply keep a record outside the app.
The essentials without opening the app
Home-screen widgets, payment-due notifications and Siri shortcuts: the important information comes to you.
A global dashboard and shared management
A dashboard consolidates your whole situation. Family sharing lets you manage shared wealth via iCloud, choosing each person’s role. Multiple currencies make their entrance.
A net worth valued in real time
Stock and ETF prices, fund NAVs and exchange rates update automatically, even in the background: your wealth is always at its fair value.
No more manual entry
Import your OFX, QIF or CSV statements: transactions are categorized automatically, duplicates are detected, and recurring operations are validated in the background.
Understand, month after month
Monthly then quarterly reports, cash-flow projection and savings rate: clear analyses to take a step back from your finances.
Beyond borders
The app opens up to the world: international account types (ISA, 401(k), IRA, Superannuation, REIT…), a configurable market index (CAC 40, S&P 500, DAX…), a currency suited to your region, and an interface in English, French and Hungarian — switchable in the app.
The details that change everything
A synced, editable schedule, collapsible account groups, more reliable family sharing, faster lists… and a privacy mode: an “eye” button blurs the amounts so you can check the app in public.
First public release
After a thorough testing phase, PatrimoniApp is published on the App Store — free, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Everything above is included, from the very first download.
Help moves into the app
Built-in help, topic by topic, and the user guide, both available from Settings. Behind the scenes the app repairs itself: balances are reconciled at launch and orphaned references are fixed automatically.
Stock investing comes to PatrimoniApp
A full investing module, grafted onto your existing net worth — no double counting, no second app: investment account types that match your country, cash and securities kept apart, guided buy and sell orders (weighted average cost, FIFO disposals), broker positions import, contribution cap and estimated taxation for the French PEA, dividends taken in cash or reinvested and credited automatically.
Daily history, performance and a dedicated report
The automatic end-of-day capture archives your portfolio every trading day, with no file to import, and the history stays browsable, correctable and exportable. Performance is computed as a time-weighted return — your contributions are never counted as a gain — and compares against the benchmark you choose among 17 markets. The “Stock investing” report adds interactive charts, a month × year matrix and PDF, Excel or CSV exports.
A guided first run
On first launch, a guided tour introduces every main screen — Accounts, Transactions, Dashboard, Budgets, Wealth, Loans, AI assistant, Reports, Exports and Settings — so you feel at home in seconds.
The AI you choose, and sharper projections
The assistant opens up to several providers — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral or any compatible service — with your own key. The Monte Carlo simulation adds a “Favourable” (P75) scenario and richer context, and buying or selling a holding now takes a single button, right on each portfolio row.
Safer iCloud sync
iCloud sync and family sharing become more robust: no more stalling at startup, a reliable “last sync” indicator and clean recovery after an interruption.
Stock performance, precisely
Comparing your portfolio against its benchmark becomes accurate, computed on real price history, and now spans trailing 2, 3 and 5-year horizons. A detailed view per holding (multi-period chart, 52-week high and low, today’s price) and a daily, synced tracking of your indices and holdings — ETFs, funds, crypto and employee-savings FCPE (PEE / PER) included — round out the investing module.
Budgets that follow your categories
A budget can cover a whole category — “Food” — and every sub-category counts toward it automatically; inside it, a finer sub-limit such as “Groceries” is never counted twice. iCloud sync becomes more reliable: a deleted item no longer reappears on your other devices. The built-in help is completely rewritten, in 19 step-by-step topics.
What your wealth is really exposed to
An “Exposure” screen shows the real composition of your wealth — equities, bonds, cash, property… — including what your wrappers hold, with the geographic breakdown of each class. Your wealth is recorded every month so you can follow its course, and Monte Carlo simulations now read as four trajectories, year by year.
Dispose of an asset, analyse what is invested
Sell all or part of an asset — shares, crypto, REIT units, rental property — and choose where the money goes: before you confirm, the screen sums up the net proceeds and the realised gain or loss. The “Investable wealth” report analyses your allocation excluding your main residence, cash included, with three charts, four concentration indicators and a PDF export.
What your savings earn
Enter the rate of your savings accounts, term deposits, euro funds or bonds: the app estimates the interest they produce, following each product’s own rule — fortnights for French regulated savings, daily accrual, compound interest or coupon. An Interest tab sums up your interest-bearing savings, and a simulator projects your contributions over 1, 5 or 10 years. These are estimates, never added to your balances: only your bank’s calculations are authoritative.
Investment history, without opening the app
The value of your investment accounts records itself at the chosen time, in the market’s time zone: on Mac as long as PatrimoniApp is running, even with its window closed — with an option to open it at login — and on iPhone and iPad in the background. Foreign-currency transactions are converted at the right rate, whether entered or imported, and dividends or sales received in another currency show their correct equivalent value.
The app keeps evolving
